The FULL MOON occurs on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at 6:45 AM EDT.
On Thursday morning, the Sun in Taurus opposes the Moon in Scorpio. The Full Moon is a time of culmination and the promise of fulfillment of that which was started at the New Moon. It is an emotional time—a time of romance, fertilization, and relationships.
The Taurus-Scorpio polarity deals with the balance between all that is mine (Taurus) and all that is yours (Scorpio). It also emphasizes the concept of form (Taurus) versus transformation (Scorpio). While Taurus deals with matter, personal values, material goods, possessions, and security, Scorpio rules the destruction of form, shared possessions, change, and transformation. The Sun in Taurus encourages happiness with the simple, tangible things in life, while the Scorpio Moon draws our attention to complexities, intangibles, and mysteries.
Neglecting either end of the axis will surely backfire on us. Ideally, a balance should be found between the two energies, and this is what the Full Moon invites us to do. This Full Moon is about emotional declarations. Something has been building inside of us, likely of an intimate nature, and now is the time when the energy of the cosmos fairly demands that we let it out.
Over the next two weeks, we will discover what this declaration means for us. For now, we can’t sit on our feelings — we need to express them. The Full Moon illuminates this conflict between collecting and sharing. With the Moon full and bright in the sky, symbolic “illumination” occurs in our own lives. However, these new feelings and revelations are emotional ones, as emotions burst forth into our consciousness. It’s time to express ourselves and to let things out of our systems. Of course, we might want to exercise some care while doing so, knowing that what is coming out of us is new and not particularly rational as yet.
Full Moons are about exposing or illuminating issues that are already there, but that have not yet been dealt with. Where does the Full Moon fall by house in your natal chart? Read more here.
We have conviction and tenacity, and we are willing to make necessary changes, but there can be some tension and impatience involved with our revelations now.
This is another year when you’re breaking out of the usual routine, dear Taurus. And, you’re taking this to another level! Rule-breaking Uranus continues to transit your sign, encouraging a different approach to your life. Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are challenging you to change your outlook and enrich your experiences. It’s a powerful time for new courses or training, as well as for your voice! People are interested in what you have to say and share.
Some of the heaviness of thinking, belief systems, attitudes, travel, or education is on its way out in 2020, freeing you up to enjoy yourself more deeply. You’re embracing desires you never knew you had and finding ways to pursue them. These can relate to new ideas, travels, approaches, and skills.
There continues to be an emphasis on your private life, inner world, and intimate life this year, Gemini. In 2020, however, key themes are developing that highlight your independence and the innovative side to your personality.
Venus retrograde in your sign this year suggests you’re learning and reinforcing self-love, and it’s quite a magical process. There can be ups and downs as it’s essentially a time for allowing your heart to catch up with the rest of you. Venus transits your sign for a whopping four months, from April 3-August 7, and is retrograde within that period only from May 13-June 25. There will be plenty of attention to you and your ability to attract what you need into your life.
With Saturn heading out of Capricorn this year, however, and Jupiter in the sign most of 2020, things ARE getting easier, or at the least, more pleasurable. In fact, you may very well enjoy your ambitious side, career, professional life, or managerial position far better this year. It’s a time for embracing desires and ambitions you may never have known you had, and going for it! It’s not going to be the same-old, same-old process, however. You are doing your professional and public life quite differently, and you are capable of tremendous success. The old way of doing things is pretty much dead and buried as the year progresses. It’s time for reinventing yourself.
Use the retrograde period to really get in touch with what motivates and drives you, and then put your plans into action when Mars is direct and approaching its regular speed in December.
There has been a tremendous focus on a private, background sector of your solar chart. While this theme does continue and, in some ways, intensifies, there is a distinct shift happening throughout 2020 that brings things out into the light! All of this translates to increasingly more clarity in your life.
The area of focus in question rules your subconscious, private life, dream world, intuition, attachment to the past, sorrows, endings, karma, and reckoning. Big players transiting this area of your chart are in the background, working undercover, and nudging you to deal with matter you’ve ignored, swept under the carpet, or left unfinished.
This is also an area of our charts where we uncover hidden talents and strengths, not only areas of liability. Essentially, you’re seeking closure so that you can move forward, and while the “moving forward” part comes full bloom in 2021, everything is starting this year. You’re discovering areas that have been holding you back–where you feel bound or stuck–and with this awareness, you’ll find ways to put things behind you that belong in the past.
There is a tremendous focus on your sign this year, although one of the major players in your life in recent years (Saturn) is phasing out of your sign. There may be a fall or fresh start before you rise again this year with Saturn and Pluto coming into alignment in Capricorn in January, and then Jupiter with Pluto for the better part of 2020. In some areas of life, and quite possibly regarding your personal presentation or sense of independence, you’re breaking something down before you rebuild it.
Jupiter visits your sign most of the year 2020, and it’s a good indication that while you continue to make serious efforts to change and improve your life, you’re feeling more confident and joyful about doing so! This is the kind of year that defines before/after divisions. It can be a period of a brand-new venture that has massive long-term potential. It may also be a time when you’re bringing a whole new “you” to the world.
The Moon heads into your sign for a couple of days and your emotions are in the spotlight today. It's a fine day for gaining new insight on your life and the important people in it. There is a greater understanding of subtleties. Relationship matters can thrive today and tomorrow. People tend to support your ideas and enjoy your stories and insights. It's a wonderful time for artistic pursuits, whether you're enjoying others' work or creating something yourself. The healing power of art and music can be in focus. You are especially in touch with your creative powers. A Mercury-Neptune transit makes it natural to let go of overthinking as the day advances, and this helps you see the bigger picture. Accepting and enjoying differences with important people in your life is key to this. Communications can bring pleasure or unexpected opportunities.
The year is powerful for sorting out your one-to-one relationships and for discovering what you can do on your own, too. The eclipses finish up in your sign by mid-2020, and you’ll not only know where you stand, but you’re also poised for a fresh start.
The Saturn-Pluto conjunction in January helps you assess the strength of certain structures or anchors in your life, particularly involving your relationships. If they’re no longer supporting you, it may be time to break them down before rebuilding. Whether or not you rebuild the same structures or begin something new, it’s a time for recognizing the need to approach your attachments in new, more empowering ways. This influence, in many ways, is about tough love–dysfunctional elements of relating need to go, and you’ll need to be firm to take charge of your life. If something has been limiting or blocking your happiness and fulfillment in your relationships, you’re ready to do something about it.
You’re serious about self-care, work, and health again this year, Leo, but you’re approaching it more holistically and joyfully! It’s a powerful year for a turning point in these areas–something has to change.
Early in 2020, there can be a reality check to deal with related to work or health and habits, after which you’re rebuilding if not bigger, better! It’s a year for making radical changes to improve your daily affairs and routines. Motivation builds to new levels that you may never have experienced before as Jupiter and Pluto join forces in your solar sixth house from March to November. It’s powerful energy for rebuilding and improving the structures in your life.
Your worlds of creativity, fun, or romance are transforming in 2020, Virgo. While you may need to rebuild from the ground up, you have powerful tools at your disposal and intense motivation to do so! This is a time of breaking down structures that no longer serve you well, and then building new ones that support the “new you.” You’ll find 2020 a time of improved channels for expressing yourself, stronger confidence in your value and creativity, and a stronger sense of what–and who–you love. You’re building a clearer game plan.
Hobbies, love affairs, children, recreation, artwork, and pastimes are all areas that are transforming in deep, permanent, and positive ways this year. You’re approaching these things with more self-knowledge, ambition, and confidence.
2020 is a year for sorting out and transforming your finances and belongings, Sagittarius. It’s a powerful period for starting fresh, rebuilding, and making significant improvements to your income, spending, self-esteem, comfort, and security levels. You’re more disciplined than usual, and you’re deriving real pleasure from this fact! You’ll find it quite satisfying and enjoyable to build something solid and substantial for yourself in 2020.
You might discover new or untapped resources thanks to Jupiter moving through your money sector most of the year. Jupiter gave you a real confidence boost last year while it transited your sign. Most of 2020, Jupiter is encouraging you to discover new ways to boost your income and feelings of security, as well as to enjoy yourself and your bounty. From May to June, it may be best not to make big purchases with Venus retrograde. However, the year in a general sense is excellent for creative ways to make and enjoy money, pleasures, and comforts.
There is a considerable focus on your social life, networks, and business goals if you’re in business for yourself in 2020. Team efforts or collaboration can be in sharp focus and successful. At the same time, sweeping changes may be in order for you to get to a place of improvement with friends, groups, or associates this year. It’s time for a clean-up of sorts so that you can live more authentically in your social life, and it’s of considerable benefit to you! It’s about making room for connections, relationships, and projects that empower you rather than consistently drain you.
This can be a year in which your connections and networks can lead to meaningful new goals, or they can take you on a beneficial path. Friends can be of practical help to you. You may take the lead of a group, start up a new and exciting endeavor, and improve your friendships and social life quite dramatically. You may be renovating from the ground up in your social life, with happiness goals, and with passion projects. Fortunately, this is one of the best years for developing close connections and kinships, and it’s excellent for connections with a team or group, new long-term initiatives, and exciting causes and missions.
The year 2020 brings fantastic renovations to your personal life, home, and domestic or emotional world. It’s a powerful time for making changes that improve your living conditions, self-esteem, and comfort levels. You’re finding more joy in bringing order to your home life this year, and you’re determined to make things better!
While you’re doing your personal and domestic life differently–and it’s a considerable focus–you’re also challenged to branch out and expand your horizons. This might happen through contact with people from an entirely different background than yours, travel, or higher learning.
First, your ruler, Venus, spends extra time in this area of your solar chart (from April to August), and you’ll be questioning whether your current lifestyle is fulfilling you. Next, the North Node moves into this area for an 18-month stay. You receive a nudge towards adopting beliefs that genuinely reflect the current “you,” and you’re learning about your need for self-expression through adventure–or non-routine activities and experiences.
